The recently opened Regional Customer Service Centre of Latvijas Valsts Meži (Latvian State Forests), is already the third standardised project for which Dores Factory provided the production, delivery, and assembly of timber structural elements.

At Latvia’s most significant construction competition, the Latvian Construction Award 2024, which recognises outstanding architectural achievements, the Customer Service Centre received the highest honour - the Grand Prix.

More than 400 m³ of timber materials were used in the construction of the building, including planed boards, glued laminated timber structures, and plywood. Producing this volume of finished material requires approximately 1,200 m³ of raw timber. In Latvia, such an amount of wood grows on average in just 25 minutes, during which time the trees absorb around 1,200 tonnes of carbon dioxide (source: Latvian State Forests).

We are proud to be part of large-scale projects that promote sustainable construction through the extensive use of wood as a renewable material. At the opening ceremony of the customer service centre, Ģirts Krūmiņš, State Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture of Latvia, highlighted that: “Wood is clearly experiencing a renaissance today. This new building is a vivid example of Latvian timber construction - one that others can learn from and draw inspiration from, as wooden architecture is our future.”
